The Walking Dead Series Staying True To the Comic?

So I just finnished watching the 4th episode of the walking dead. Man I love this show. I have also been reading the comics so that I could see how true they are staying to it. So far I would say it's maybe 50/50. They seem to use parts of the comic but expand on others.

It will be interesting to see if they are maybe not going by an issue to issue basis but maybe taking a few and wrapping them all up together.

For example - they haven't show Merle or Daryl yet... let alone hand cuffing Merle on the roof... and there was no tank and Rick was rescued by Glenn, but Glenn wasn't with a group of people. So there wasn't the whole getting a truck and driving it back to camp deal. With all this said I love the show and the comic both. Maybe I will start blogging more about the differences between the 2. Let me know what you think. Leave a comment! :)

  1. After watching episode 5, it looks like they aren't planning on following the book much at all. I love the books as well and at first had hoped the show would follow them. But the show seems to be doing its own thing, and I'm enjoying it, so I don't mind.

  2. I agree. It's more like the show is just using the setting and the characters from the comic. But the show is still freaking awesome!
